Prerequisites

Check Your Firmware Version

Navigate to “Settings” > “System Information” on your PS3 to verify your current firmware version.

Prepare Your USB Drive

  1. Format your USB drive to FAT32. (Format USB Drive with Rufus)
  2. Create a folder named “PS3” on the root of the USB drive.
  3. Inside the “PS3” folder, create another folder named “UPDATE”.

Installing Hybrid Firmware (HFW) v4.91.1

  • Place the HFW file in the “UPDATE” folder, naming it “PS3UPDAT.PUP”.
  • Plug the USB drive into your PS3 and go to “Settings” > “System Update” > “Update via Storage Media”.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to install HFW.

PS3HEN Installation Steps

  1. Open your PS3 internet browser and clear cookies, cache, and browser history.
  2. Reopen the browser and visit ps3xploit.me.
  3. A popup message will appear, press the X button to OK.
  4. Go to PS3HEN Auto Installer (Top Left side) and bookmark the page by pressing the select button.
  5. Click on the “Auto HEN Install” button. PS3HEN.p3t will download, and a popup window will appear.
  6. Reopen your browser and visit the Auto HAN Installer page from your bookmark.
  7. Click on “Auto HEN Installer” again. Another popup window will appear, asking to overwrite and save, press X to enter.
  8. Once the download is complete, go back by pressing the back button on your controller.
  9. Click on “Auto HAN Installer” for the third time without closing the browser.
  10. Wait for the initialization of Auto HEN Installer. Once done, you’ll see a “Welcome to PS3HEN 3.3.0” popup message on the upper right side.
  11. Close your browser.
  12. PS3 will auto-download the latest HEN package and install it. If not, restart your PS3 manually.
  13. Your system will boot up differently, and you’ll see “Enable HEN.”
  14. If you see the Package Manager folder in the game tab, you have successfully jailbroken your PS3.
