PS4 Jailbreak Firmware – The PS4 exploit execution is not determined by whether you have a FAT, Slim, or PRO model. It is dependent on the firmware version installed on your PS4 system. You can only jailbreak specific PS4 firmware versions as mentioned above. If your PS4 is running one of the listed firmware versions, you can jailbreak your PS4 system. If your firmware version is not listed or below 11.00, you can update it to one of the listed versions via USB. Updating your PS4 console is easy with a USB drive formatted to exFAT or FAT32.

FAQs

Can I backport my firmware?

You can backport games, but you can’t roll back to a previous firmware version. If your PS4 is on one of the above-listed firmware versions, consider selling your PS4 system and purchasing a console with the listed firmware installed.

I’m on 5.05 should I update?

It’s up to you. Once you have installed the backport of the game, updates, and DLCs, you can choose to update to firmware version 11.00. However, if you prefer a more stable experience, you may stay on firmware version 5.05.

What happens when you jailbreak?

An exploit execution adds/unlocks new and useful features under debug setting for you such as package installer, FTP, and many others.

5.05 vs 11.00 Jailbreak

Firmware version 5.05 is more stable than 9.00, but we can’t ignore the additional features of newer versions. Check the examples below:
Game Required Firmware – 9.00 | Your Firmware – 9.00: No backport, update, or DLC backport required.
Game Required Firmware – 11.00 | Your Firmware – 7.55 or lower: You must install a backport for your game, update, and DLC (Update & DLC optional).
Game Required Firmware – 7.55 or lower | Your Firmware – 11.00/9.00: No backport, update, or DLC backport required.
